Retailers React to Debit Fee Victory

 Retailers across the country have reason to celebrate!  Recently in Washington an attempt to delay a cap on Interchange fees that banks charge merchants for processing debit cards failed.  If you haven’t been following the proposal, new regulations are set to take effect on July 21st that will place a cap on debit card fees that are charged from the banks.  Current estimates are that banks get on average 44 cents per transaction and the bill purposed will cap the fees at 12 cents.  The cap is part of last years finance reform bill which instructed the Federal Reserve to i
