Choose to be Positive

Maybe it’s because I’m a writer that words have such a profound effect on me. Whether sweet and affirming or mean and cutting, I internalize the words I hear and read. That’s why it is such a downer to notice all of the negativity in the world, coming from people who don’t realize the power of their words.

In this past week, I have experienced the loss of a friend’s teenager to suicide, an unhappy client, a negative networker, and a confrontational ex-husband. If you think about it, there are so many things that happen every day that can weigh us down and sour our disposition.
